In most of the reviews I keep hearing how they should have made 06 like 05. I'm glad they didn't. 2006 has challenged me like no other golf game ever. Come on I was shooting on average scores of 20 under par in 2005. What fun is that. there's no challenge at all. They did good in making 2006 feel more like the real thing. I'm not saying TW06 is perfect because it's not. It's confusing at first to realize where to go to start playing. The load times are pretty bad, and there are some nasty bugs that should hgave been fixed before release. The worst one forced me to to retake my second shot over and over again because i couldn't make it over the water. It wouldn't let me pick anything than wedges. It did the same thing to my computer opponent. That's only happened once but it is still pretty bad. Wityhout that one bug it would be a much better game. I haven't played online yet, but it seems like everyone else thinks it sucks. If you want a good golfing sim, it is worth it if ! you can get over some of the flaws.

Self insurance is a risk management method whereby an eligible risk is risk management#Risk Retention|retained, but a calculated amount of money is set aside to compensate for the potential future loss. The amount is calculated using actuarial and insurance information and the law of large numbers so that the amount set aside (similar to an insurance premium) is enough to cover the future uncertain loss. Self insurance is similar to insurance in concept, but it does not involve paying a premium to an insurer.Self insurance is only possible for a truly insurable risk, meaning a risk that is measurable enough in the aggregate to be able to accurately estimate the amount that needs to be set aside. For a risk to be insurable, it must have a few characteristics, one is essentially needs to involve a large number of similar risks, so that the aggregate risk can be measured according to the law of large numbers. The other quality of an insurable risk is that it must not be cat! astrophic. Any risk where the potential loss is so large that no one could afford to pay the appropriate premium is not insurable. An example is that earthquakes cannot be fully insured against because an earthquake can cause more damage than any insurer has in total assets, and the proper premium would be so high, very, very few consumers could afford it.Full self insurance is rarely done. Usually a portion of the risk is retained and self insured, and a stop loss or stop gap policy is purchased with very high limits, and very high deductibles. This stop loss policy does not pay until the high deductible is satisfied which is relatively rare, so the stop loss coverage is relatively inexpensive.Examples of full self insurance occur for various types of employee benefits insurance for corporations with many thousands of employees. Hundreds of thousands of employees is a large enough pool to be able to calculate the risk accurately and fully self insure in some cases.The! idea of self insurance is that by retaining, calculating risk! s, and p aying the resulting claims or losses, the overall process is cheaper than could be done by paying an insurance company to do it, because the company self insuring does not have to pay the profit component to the insurer.Self insurance does not work for individuals because individuals rarely have enough money to set aside to cover a potential future loss, and even if they did, they do not have a large enough number of similar potential risk exposures to spread the risk across and quantify it. For individuals the answer is either purchasing insurance, or retaining the risk.

The Ginkgo (''Ginkgo biloba''), sometimes also known as the Maidenhair Tree, is a unique tree with no close living relatives. It is classified in its own division, the Ginkgophyta, comprising the single class Ginkgoopsida, order Ginkgoales, family Ginkgoaceae, genus ''Ginkgo'' and just the one species. It is one of the best examples of a living fossil known. In the past it has also been placed in the divisions Spermatophyta or Pinophyta. Ginkgo is a gymnosperm (as opposed to an angiosperm), meaning "naked seed"; its seeds are not protected by a fruit.For centuries it was thought to be extinct in the wild, but is now known to grow wild in at least two small areas in Zhejiang province in eastern China, in the Tian Mu Shan Reserve. However, as this area has known human activity for over a thousand years, the wild status of ginkgos there is as of yet uncertain.

Orchids get their name from the Greek language|Greek ''orchis'', meaning 'testicle', from the appearance of subterranean tuberoids in some terrestrial species. The word 'orchis' was first used by Theophrastos (372 BC|372/371 BC|371 - 287 BC|287/286 BC), in his book "De historia plantarum" (The natural history of plants). He was a student of Aris! totle and is considered the father of botany and ecology.All orchid species are protected for the purposes of international commerce under CITES as potentially threatened or endangered in their natural habitat, with most species listed under Appendix II. Kendo (剣道 ''Kendō'', 劍道) , which is the modern martial art of Japanese fencing, developed from traditional techniques of Japanese swordsmanship known as ''kenjutsu''. Since 1975 the goal of Kendo has been stated by the All Japan Kendo Federation as "to discipline the human character through the application of the principles of the ''katana'' (the Japanese standard sword)". However, Kendo combines martial arts values with sport elements, with some practitioners stressing the former and others the latter.Taught using "sword|swords" made of split bamboo (shinai) and extensive protective armour (Bogu), practitioners are called ''kendoka'' or "kenshi". Kendoka merely means one who practices kendo. Kenshi means swordsman. Both terms are used, though many clubs have a preference for one term. Kendoka also use ''bokken|bokuto'' (wooden katana) to practice set forms known as kata. On formal occasions, real swords or metal swords with a blunt edge, ca! lled ''habiki'', can be used. There are 10 basic ''kata''.Achievement in Kendo is signified by advancement in rank, or ''dan'', with the eighth rank (''hachi-dan'') currently the highest rank attainable through testing. Higher dan is awarded on an honorary basis as recognition to one's lifetime contribution to the advancement of Kendo as an art. Additionally there are six ranks below ''dan'' known as ''kyu''. The number preceding the ''kyu'' is the number of ranks it is below the first ''dan'' rank (''sho-dan''). Sho-dan is equivalent to a first degree blackbelt.In modern kendo, there are two types of attacks - strikes and thrusts. Strikes are allowed against only certain areas on the body. The valid targets are ''men'' (top of the opponent's head), ''sayu-men'' (the left or right side of the opponent's head), right ''kote'', or wrist at any time, the left ''kote'' when it is in a raised position (such as ''jodan''), the left or right ''do'' (in tournament situations poin! ts are rarely awarded for striking the left side of the oppone! nt's ''d o''). Thrusts are only allowed to the throat (''tsuki''). However, since a wrongly done thrust could injure the neck, thrust techniques are often left out at the starting level and practiced at later levels.In matches, a point is only awarded when the attack is done firmly and properly to any of the allowed targets with ''Ki-ken-tai-ichi'', or spirit, sword, and body as one. This means for an attack to be successful the shinai must strike a proper target at the same time the attacker's front foot makes contact with the ground and at the same time of a ''kiai'' or shout that displays good spirit. Though it is common, especially in matches within a dojo, a ''kiai'' need not be the target name that is being struck.In a tournament, there are three judges (''shimpan''), each holding a red and a white flag in either hand. Each competitor has either a white or red flag attached to his or her back. For a point to be awarded, two judges must agree. To signal this, the judges lift up ! the color flag of the player who scored the point. The first to score two points wins the match. If the time limit runs out before two points are awarded, several things may happen: If one player has one point and the other does not, then the player with one point wins. In cases of tie, the match may be decided by a period of overtime, sudden death overtime (the first to score a point wins regardless of time left), or a ''hansoko'', or judges' decision.The International Kendo Federation (IKF) has members in 44 countries. The international championships are held every three years since 1970, when the IKF was founded.

The term vintner is applied to wine merchants as well as winemakers. Wine merchants buy and sell wine, while winemakers, sometimes also known as oenologists, produce wine or supervise the production of wine. This includes cooperating with viticulturists, monitoring the progress of grapes to ensure their quality and to determine the correct time for harvest, crushing and pressing grapes, monitoring the settling of juice and the fermentation of grape material, filtering the wine to remove remaining solids, testing the quality of wine, placing filtered wine in casks or tanks for storage and maturation, and preparing plans for bottling wine once it has matured and make sure that quality is maintained when the wine is bottled.Today, these duties require an increasing amount of scientific knowledge, since laboratory tests are gradually supplementing or replacing traditional methods. Nonetheless, a vintner still requires an excellent sense of taste and smell.

Pastis is an anise-flavored liqueur and aperitif from France, typically containing 40-45% alcohol by volume, although there exist alcohol-free varieties.When absinthe was banned in France in 1915, the major absinthe producers (then Pernod and Ricard, who have since merged as Pernod Ricard) reformulated their drink without the banned wormwood component, creating pastis, which remains popular in France today.Pastis is normally diluted with water before drinking (generally 5 volumes of water for 1 volume of pastis). The resulting decrease in alcohol percentage causes some of the constituents to become insoluble, which changes the liqueur's appearance from dark transparent yellow to milky soft yellow. The drink is consumed cold, with ice, and is considered a refreshment for hot days. Ice cubes should be added after the water to avoid crystallization of the pastis.Although it is consumed throughout France, especially in the summer, pastis is generally associated with southeastern! France, especially with the city of Marseille, and with the clich?s of the Provence|Proven?al lifestyle, like p?tanque.Related drinks are anisette, ouzo and raki (alcoholic beverage)|raki.

This is a fascinating book, written in clear, lucid, and descriptive prose, and written for the non-specialist and specialist alike, exploring the impact of evolution on health and disease. The book introduces "evolutionary medicine" to help the reader make informed choices about his or her own health. No one who wants to live a long, healthy life can afford to ignore the important insights gleaned from evolution in this book. What worked when we were hunter-gatherers on the African savannas no longer works in modern society, and the changes in our modern environments have caused Homo sapiens to adapt poorly. One of the key evolutionary concepts is an entity's adaptation to its environment: When all the body's organs and systems are operating optimally under the ideal evolutionary environments, both internally and externally, our bodies are concordant. When our bodies are out of sync with either environment, they begin to fail, and our bodies become discordant. The former ! is homeostasis and health, the latter is disease and dysfunction. After a very short introduction to the essential Darwinian concepts, excellently and easily recapitulated, the author turns to the seventeen stages of human evolutionary development, beginning with prokaryotes as stage one and ending with Homo sapiens as stage seventeen millions of years later, and describing all the intermediary stages in between. Although not difficult, it's the only place where the reader might become pensive, if not impatient, thinking the author is off course. But the key to understanding the rest of the book depends on understanding the material presented in Chapter Two. Here are some of the insights in columnar outline: LEVEL OF EVOLUTION,ADAPTIVE FAILURE, CONSEQUENCE Pre-life, Environmental poisons, Birth defects Single cell, Viral infection, Cold/Flu/HIV Morula (sponge-like), Cellular stress, Cancer Chordate, Physical stress, Back pain Fish, Excess dietary salt, Heart disease Amph! ibian, Tobacco smoke, Lung disease Lower primate, Excess dieta! ry sugar , Diabetes mellitus Higher primate, Vitamin C deficiency, Scurvy Ape, Excess dietary protein, Gout Homo sapiens, Reduced dietary variety, Allergies This is a partial list. Each of the seventeen stages co-exist in humans; this complexity is both to our advantage, and can be our downfall. Understanding how each stage of evolution works within us unlocks a wealth of information. Obviously, the emphasis is on prevention, not treatment, although there are constructive, non-medical, non-surgical options discussed. Some of the ideas are extremely valuable and helpful, others are highly speculative and dubious. For example, one particularly difficult concept advocated by Boaz is a return to a Paleo Diet that is high in animal products (especially gamey meats), while avoiding indigestible beans, grains, and dairy. It might be the "ideal" diet, but it's an impossible one to follow, and even more difficult to find. Still, the insights can help guide one to nutrition from an evolution! ary perspective. The chapter on our musculoskeletal system was by far my favorite; I suffer from many of the system's dysfunctions, and now realize why. I knew it was a failure to adapt, but exactly how was new to me. Nearly every anatomical and physiological system is evaluated in evolutionary terms. I'd run out of space just outlining them. Suffice it to say, this is not the only book on evolutionary medicine. This new field is literally exploding. Certainly an excellent alternative is Randolph Nesse's and George Williams' "Why We Get Sick: The New Science of Darwinian Medicine." Both are equally competent and informative, the only difference is a matter of style and approach. Take a look at both books and find the one that suits your temperament best. I truly enjoyed both. Ignore either to your health's detriment.

''The Evolution Diet'' is also a book, published in 2005 by CoDe Publishing and printed at lulu.com. The book stresses the importance of natural human physiology and bases the diet on how a cultureless human would eat. The eating plan has similarities with the Paleolithic diet and Natural Foods Diet, however the Evolution Diet stresses ''when'' to eat certain foods, not just what foods to eat. Also The Evolution Diet allows for modern foods that have similar propert! ies to natural foods, not just foods that were available before agriculture.

CADASIL


CADASIL stands for Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy and is a genetic disorder characterised by migraines with aura and cerebrovascular disease causing dementia and stroke. The disease is caused by a Genetic mutation|mutation of the NOTCH3 gene. Some patients also experience mood disorders and epilepsy. CADASIL brain damage is characterized by subcortical infarcts, white matter damage and microbleeds. An ultrastructural analysis shows small caliber arterial damage, consisting in smooth muscle cells loss, swollen endothelial cells and osmiophilic deposits. There is some evidence showing that clinical progression depends on the mutation's localization in the Gene sequencing|gene sequence.CADASIL has only recently been discovered and only around 400 families with the disease have been diagnosed. However, it is believed that the disease is far more prevalent than current diagnoses indicate.

Ameloblastoma is a rare, benign tumor of odontogenic epithelium (the cells that create the enamel, or outside portion, of the teeth during development) often appearing in the upper or lower jaw. While these tumors are rarely malignant or metastatic (that is, they rarely spread to other parts of the body), and progress slowly, the resulting lesions can cause severe abnormalities of the face and jaw. Additionally, because abnormal cell growth easily infiltrates surrounding tissues, wide surgical excision is required to treat this disorder and recurrence is common.
